Hi All,

When typing in Lion you can hold down a letter for just a second or two and it
will pop up a list of alternate versions of that letter, such as the various
accented characters. However, I can only seem to make VO read either the first
or last character in the popup list. I've tried all the methods I can think of
to navigate the list: Interact, VO+Shift+J, VO left, right, up, down and
inside-out, but none of them are doing the trick. I know other letters are
there. If I right arrow a different number of times before pressing Return, I
get a different character with each different number of arrow presses.

For example, my Mac is set to US English and I'm typing on a US English
keyboard and when I press and hold the letter "A" for a second it will silently
popup a list of alternate versions of the letter "A" and if I press right arrow
once VO will announce "à" (a grave). If I continue to arrow right I will hear
nothing more, but if I press Return after my second right arrow it will insert
"á" (A acute).

Has anybody had success with this feature? I've recently learned the other
methods of inserting characters -- with help from Anne R and Esther -- but I
was thinking this would be a pretty nice addition to the input methods.

Any thoughts much appreciated,
Cheers,
Bryan
