Hi Earle, Have you tried going to Apple's software downloads site? Assuming you are looking for laptop distributions, this would be: http://support.apple.com/downloads/#portablecomputers Use the web item rotor shortcut VO-U and set the rotor (pressing Up and Left arrow keys) to Headings. You'll find listings for both iTunes 10.4 and 10.3.1.
However, the process of downgrading requires you to also delete files from your system's /Library/Receipts folder and also the associated preference file (com.apple.iTunes.plist) in the Library/Preferences folder of your user account. If you have a Time Machine backup of your older iTunes library, it's probably simpler to restore iTunes that backup. The reason that you need to make these additional file deletions is that your system's Software Updater checks your receipts to determine what version of each application you are running, what other dependencies that application version needs, and when you need a new download version. If you "fix" things by hand in such a way as to invalidate the current system records of what you have installed, you could run into problems. For example, iTunes uses QuickTime to play and record music, but that dependency is not something you need to know about -- unless you break something in the system. The reason you need to delete the .plist file is because the new version of iTunes may have settings for features that are not in the old preference file. I have not tried rolling back any of my versions of iTunes, but if you want to try it, I will point you to an appletoolbox.com web page with instructions for downgrading from iTunes 10.0.1 to 10.0 that outlines the likely steps you will need to take. I'm going to assume that your iTunes downgrade is independent of any system update from Snow Leopard to Lion. Here's the appletoolbox.com web page link: <http://appletoolbox.com/2010/10/how-to-downgrade-itunes-10-0-1-to-itunes-10-0-get-genius-sidebar-back/> I'd be happier if I could find one specifically for downgrading from 10.4 to 10.3.1, but I haven't read anything that covers that. The old MacFixit site (before they sold it to CNet and the quality of content dropped) would probably have covered a topic like that. But it has been two years since that site was available, and the current site does not cover this subject. HTH.
