Hi Anne, Nic, Paul, and Others, There are additional restrictions on the features of apps that are sold through the App Store. For example, the version of ABBYY FineReader that was sold before the App Store started up could be used with a free trial download period. That sort of feature, where there's a trial period, and then an additional charge to keep the app working, is not allowed under the App Store model. There's also no way to deliver special custom files with the download, such as the "moveAddict Preferences.app" file that was included in Kapeli's distribution of moveAddict for separate VoiceOver access to the preference pane or the other software files that DVDRemaster Pro distributed with their program. They simply now point you to their web site to get these.
So, there should be nothing so restrictive as the App Store version of ABBYY FineReader Express handling only one language, but there are differences in the version they distribute through the App Store.
