I'm not Sarah but TrashMe is an App that can clean up apps when deleting from 
the HD.

I've never used but saw an article on the App.  I suspect you drag an unwanted 
app, dropping it on TrashMe and you'll get messages regarding deleting folders, 
preferences relating to the app.

It's in the Mac App stor for $4.99 U.S.
