Hi all.
And I also want to tell you about a program that will let you stream audio from any application to any device on your network, even non-airplay supported devices. Airfoil from Rogue Amoeba software, along with the free Airfoil Speakers (included), will do just what Apple's Airplay technology does, but is more flexible. You can download a free fully functional trial that inserts noise on transmissions longer than ten minutes from www.rogueamoeba.com. Although I do not own a mac, I hear Airfoil and possibly Airfoil speakers is fully accessible with VoiceOver. The price of Airfoil is $25, and is a single user, unlimited machine license.
Chat soon.

Hi!

Apologies for those of you who will find this old hack.

An article appeared in one of our local newspapers yesterday, the article
discussed Apple's Airplay facilities available through IOS devices and iTunes
running on Mac or Windows PC's, Airplay allows the user to stream audio/video
from say an iPad to a compatible device such as an Apple TV, Airport express
and now! a whole new range of surround-sound receivers and similar devices from
Pioneer.

Other company's such as Denon and JBL have signed up with Apple to use the
Airplay technology so we're going to see some exciting products in the not to
distant future I'm sure.

Pioneer have just released 2 new surround-sound receivers equipped with Airplay
functionality, the first model retails for $1099.00 Australian which isn't a
bad price for a surround-sound receiver though the next question will be how
accessible the receiver is?

I take heart here because the receiver can be controlled by an iPad app
according to the article so those without vision are in with a good chance of
being able to control the receiver.

I've been saving for a new surround-sound receiver for quite some time and I've had
my eye on one of the Denon receivers and why? Because I know it to be fully
accessible, every function and setting can be controlled through a HTML interface and
I'll leave that for a different thread on a different list<smile> though now I
know Denon to have signed up with Apple to use the Airplay technology? Well I don't
mind waiting to see what sort of product Denon will release.
