Hello Margaret. 1. Press Control+Option (known as the "VoiceOver" or "VO" keys) plus the F8 key to open VoiceOver Utility.
2. Find the table of options and scroll down to verbosity. 3. Move to the "Text" tab and keep hitting the tab key when you select the text tab until you hear "Typing Echo" Open the menu option and change it to "Words".
