Hello Bryan We've had Bento since long long before the App store came along. In fact we bought it on the day of the release of version 3.0for Mac.
I use it at work and I'm actually contemplating upgrading to FileMaker Pro Server for Mac. The version we have on here doesn't seem to have a check for updates option in the Bento menu; which seems odd. I will go now and check again. On my copy of Bento, I can find updates by going to the Bento Menu / Check for updates. If you purchased through the Mac App Store, you might want to check the Updates section in the App Store. Personally, I've gotten in the habit of letting the MacUpdate Desktop application check for, download and install updates.
