Hi Mike, 
The APP in question is the free APP Audio Book Binder. Other APPS I have 
downloaded from the APP store do indeed appear in both the applications folder 
and in the Launch Pad but Audio Book Binder only appears in the Launch Pad. 
Possibly relevant is that I had previously installed Audio Book Binder on Snow 
Leopard where it appeared in the applications folder. However it was not 
working properly on Lion so I deleted it from the Applications folder and 
re-installed the latest version from the APP store.
