Annie, You're absolutely wonderful and brilliant!! I just set up a dropbox account today and running the .app file from the dropbox1.1.43.dmg volume made all the difference!!
I first copied the .app file to my applications folder and launched it, which got me nowhere. I then read your post and tried running it from the volume. This time I got further, but still could not enter my credentials, and when I tried using vo utility so as to experiment with different mouse tracking options, my focus kept bouncing back to the DropBox setup window. On the theory that my earlier launch of dropbox.app was interfering I restarted Lion making certain not to allow the open windows to relaunch and tried again. This time the dialogs were presented perfectly and my dropbox is now showing up as a folder under my home directory. Best regards. I think I ran the installer from the volume, not from the app I copied to the applications folder. Best regards Annie. Den Aug 28, 2011 kl. 9:38 PM skrev Sarah Alawami: > It won't be. Apple has currently taken away the access to the status bar icons. I just ran the app and it worked this time when I installed the new beta of dropbox. I really dunno how i did it but it just worked. lol! > > Take care and that's no what you wanted to hear I know but until someone comes up with a fix? > > Take care all. > On Aug 28, 2011, at 10:49 AM, joe quinn wrote: > >> when i start the machine, the dropbox thing comes up, but whenever i try to interact with it to set it up, it's not in the vo shift f1 apps list... help? >> <--- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net ---> >> >> To reply to this post, please address your message to [email protected] >> >> You can find an archive of all messages posted to the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: >> <http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html> >> or at the public Mail Archive: >> <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/>. >> Subscribe to the list's RSS feed from: >> <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/maillist.xml> >> >> The Mac-Access mailing list is guaranteed malware, spyware, Trojan, virus and worm-free! >> >> Please remember to update your membership options periodically by visiting the list website at: >> <http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/mailman/listinfo/mac-access/options/> > > <--- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net ---> > > To reply to this post, please address your message to [email protected] > > You can find an archive of all messages posted to the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: > <http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html> > or at the public Mail Archive: > <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/>. > Subscribe to the list's RSS feed from: > <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/maillist.xml> > > The Mac-Access mailing list is guaranteed malware, spyware, Trojan, virus and worm-free! > > Please remember to update your membership options periodically by visiting the list website at: > <http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/mailman/listinfo/mac-access/options/> <--- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net ---> To reply to this post, please address your message to [email protected] You can find an archive of all messages posted to the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: <http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html> or at the public Mail Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/>.
