If you don't have a tv, I don't see any value in purchasing an apple tv, since in order to enjoy services like netflix, you do need to have the apple tv connected to a tv, not just to a stereo, or it won't play movies. Or such has been my experience anyway. You can hook an airport express to a stereo. I have that set up here, and it works quite nicely to stream audio from ITunes or audio from other apps via the airfoil app that you can get from rogueamoeba software. Mary
