Hello All, I'm in the process of attempting to adapt to a Spanish ISO QWERTY keyboard layout and am thinking I might benefit from the use of a typing tutor application. Has anyone here successfully used a VO accessible typing tutor, particularly one that is compatible with multiple languages and keyboard layouts? While the letter keys on the Spanish ISO layout closely match those of my usual US English layout, there are enough differences in the size and location of other keys that I think I could use some formalized assistance.
If such an application exists, my next question would be: Since VO already serves to provide an echo of the key pressed, does the typing tutor app provide any learning enhancements above and beyond what I can achieve just by pressing, memorizing and practicing the various keys? The reason I have the notion of a typing tutor app stuck in my head is because I had great success learning to touch type back in the 1980s by using a program called "Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing" which ran on MS-DOS and provided some entertaining games that held my attention and kept me practicing, but I was fully sighted at the time and that app was very visual. Thank you in advance for any insight, Bryan <--- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net ---> To reply to this post, please address your message to [email protected] You can find an archive of all messages posted to the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: <http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html> or at the public Mail Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/>.
