Multiple methods of doing this.
First, you can use itunes to import the cd, which will (hopefully) label the songs, author, and such all for you. Secondly, you can just copy the aiff files onto a folder on your hd, then use a utility like switch to change them to another format. You can use quicktime (if you have the pro version) to do the conversion as well, and I'm sure other utilities exist to do the same thing as well. Lots of options.
