Thank you for your help Marcy.

I have created several signatures.

if I select one, while in the all list, the select signature box is still 
dimmed.

If I select one of the 3 email accounts, it is not dimmed.
For some strange reason my email address is automatically added to my main 
account, but not the other 2 accounts. 
I had to completely deleat the email address, in order for a signature to show 
up in that account.
