Hi Paul!
Well I use the grid view all the time!
What I do is when I found the album in question, go to its table of contents 
and open it, then select all then press the delete key and a window pops up 
asking if I'm sure, press on the ok and on the next one the option to keep the 
files in the media and just press on the remove option, and then its gone!
