Thank you very much for responding so quickly. I was gratified to know that
there was something available for the Mac.
The software that you pointed me to looks ultimately promising, but it is still
in Beta, and I immediately encountered problems that probably won't occur in
final releases. When I tried to read a newspaper in DAISY format which I had
downloaded from Bookshare, I was told that my audio file could not be read. I
will spend more time on the Olearia web page to learn more about the software.
Furthermore, I will report this bug.
I believe that it will be well worthwhile to send the developers feedback since
we really do need a piece of software that allows us to read DAISY texts on our
desktop computers.
