I've used both apps and think they are terrific! Heytell is completely accessible, and allows you to communicate verbally with friends who also have the app. It's kind of like a walkie-talkie system, where you send a message and the other person replies. If the app is closed, you get a message on the front of your device announcing that you have received a heytell message from, and the sender's name. There is a close button, which removes the dialogue but then you can go into the app when you are ready and the message will play. Or there is a view button, which takes you directly into the app and the message plays. To clarify, the message you've received will play when you open the app, without you having to do anything.
Viz Wiz is also completely accessible. The first screen has a camera button to take a picture of the object, which can be anything from a can of beans to a shirt or a chair, or, well the list goes on and on. It then goes to a second screen with a record button, which you double tap, speak your question such as "What color is this shirt?" Double tap the screen again (don't flick or scroll just double tap). The next screen has choices of where you want to send the picture. You can send it to a web worker, to an IQ engine, email it to someone who can email back the answer, or send it to Twitter for all your friends to see and get an answer or ten from there. You can pick more than one of these with checkboxes. Pressing the send button will take you to the last screen, where you can view the answers as they arrive. Each screen has a short explanation of what you should do on that screen. Both apps are very easy to use, and give excellent results for what they are designed to do. Sure hope this helps! Go get them in the app store, they are both free! Marcy On Sep 23, 2011, at 11:33 AM, chris hallsworth wrote: Hello all. Has anyone used either Viz Wiz and/or Heytell? What do you all think of them?
