Hello everybody

I totally agree with you here Sarah. Unfortunately, we don't own an iPhone 4,
only a 3GS at the moment, the iPhone is a marvellous phone I think.

I grant you there are issues for the hearing impaired under certain
circumstances but in general terms it really is a great piece of kit. Gordon
suffers from a hearing impairment and he uses the iPhone every day without
difficulty.

I could tell you about how he does it, but it might take me off topic because
it would involve the discussion of a totally non-Apple device. But even without
that device Gordon can use the iPhone without a problem. The voice dialling
works well as long as you speak clearly and don't mumble as a lot of people do.

The iPhone also has a proximity sensor so that the phone volume increases as
you move it away from your head, and visa versa.

So in essence, I could not disagree more with William's assertions. It happens
so often, not only with Apple's devices, but with a lot of things. People pick
them up, try them once or twice and because they can't get away with them
immediately, they decide that the device or whatever it is is poor. There is an
old saying; a bad workman always blames his tools.

I beg to differ. I can make phone calls, text and so forth. It just takes some
getting used to just like everything else we do. Stick with it.
