There's repair guides for the iphone 3gs at ifixit.com. Their guides
are fantastic, and have worked many times in the past, both for me
and others I've pointed them to. The one for the iphone 3gs is
located at:
http://www.ifixit.com/Device/iPhone_3GS
They've even got all the toolkits to handle the work if you don't
have them handy. An excellent resource that saves all kinds of hassle.
Enjoy.
