Hi! Entering Twitter information only permits you to share photos, Youtube clips and such via the apps directly, which means that the settings you enter into Settings>Twitter are automatically used when tweeting from these applications. You can also add text and geotags to your tweets. Incidentally, you can have Twitter check your contacts and based on email addresses have Twitter add their Twitter usernames.
It all works pretty well. it also lets you install the official Twitter application from that settings category.
