hello all

Gordon has been working hard all day to prepare our new email servers and we
are almost ready to port all accounts under the mac-access.net domain, as well
as the other accounts we host for clients under other domains over to our new
server configuration. It would help if we knew your passwords, although we are
mindful in the extreme that some might be uncomfortable with the concept of
giving us their passwords.

So, in the event that we don't have them, and that you aren't comfortable with
the idea of giving us them, what we'll have to do is create the account for you
and let you change the password via our new webmail interface.

We also plan on moving all lists over to the new server and we will be able to
port all members over. However, if they have special configuration options set
they will most likely need to reset those options manually. We apologise for
any inconvenience. The move is being necessitated by a bug in the Snow Leopard
open directory authentication mechanism which is hiding from us some vital user
information and which is causing the LDAP server to crash spectacularly on
occasions.

The name and address of the group will remain unchanged and if you don't
collect mail from us directly the change will most likely not affect you at all.

We are pleased to be able to tell you that we have invested again in new SSL
technology so that we can implement SSL encryption just as we do now, right
from the very start.

When we bring the new servers on line, we will make the change so that it
should be seamless. Gordon and I have invested heavily in network trunking and
now have a total of 3 SDSL backbones dedicated to our own use, each of which
has a 1 to 1 contention ratio.

If you require further information or if you would prefer to have us set up
your account on the new servers using the same password as you have now, feel
free to write to us at the support address (just reply to this message), and we
will happily do that for you so that you can make the changes necessary to your
local configuration and instantly be back on line. If not, we will let you
know your temporary passwords, and how to change them.

If you require further information or clarification, please do feel free to ask.

Lynne
