Just wait and it will bring up a box saying download and install. Now doing
this on the device I would think that you would have to be using Icloud for
backup or it would not have aback up to put your device back to and it would
do it as a new device I would think.

Ok all.
I am in settings, general, software update, and the progress is halted.
But it also says checking for update. What do I need to do now? My
screen is currently unlocked. Of course we are all new to this software
update feature so I am not expecting a response just like that. But if
you can help that would be great. Thanks! P.S. I am on wifi on my iPhone 4.
