Hello Ian, Here are two sets of instructions: One for naming a group as you create it, and another for renaming an existing group. This is how I'm able to do it on my MBA running Lion 10.7.2.
To name a new group as you are creating it: 1. Press Command+3 to put address book into the Groups view. 2. Create a new group by pressing Command+Shift+N . VO will announce something like, "untitled group, contents selected." 3. At this point you should be able to simply type the desired group name and press return to complete the process. To change the name of an existing group: 1. Press Command+3 to put address book into the Groups view. 2. Use VO to navigate to the desired group, where VO announces the group's current name. 3. Interact with the group. VO will announce, "interact with edit text." 4. Press return and VO announces, "contents selected." 5. Type the new name and press return to complete the process.
