I received an iPhone and iPod Sound Dock for Christmas from my father.
This is a desktop unit, plugged via a mains outlet, and consists of two
speakers, one on the left, one on the right, and a docking station in
the centre where you fit your iPhone or iPod. I am unfortunately having
the same problem as described in my previous post. This device also
charges your iPhone and iPod. The audio quality is excellent and is
suitable for both music and speech from VoiceOver.
There are three push button controls on the top right of the unit: power
on and off, volume down and volume up. As soon as the iPhone or iPod is
docked and the speakers are plugged into a mains outlet, the speakers
power on automatically. Not only will it charge the device, it will also
route all audio output to the speakers. Good or what!
