Hi Roger, For your weather issue I would start by going into settings -> and verify that location services is enabled and within location services that weather is authorized. A friend has a bug where the city displayed in the notification center is incorrect, though its not nearly as far off as what you're experiencing. In her situation the work-around was to open the weather app, edit cities and turn off the "local weather switch". Then upon adding a city, the last one selected will always appear in the notification center.
To get the Australian voice you have two options. In settings -> general -> accessibility -> voiceOver, double tap the language rotor and select Australian English. Note that you will only get the "compact voice" of all but your default language. This brings me to option 2 which is more permanent. You can get the high quality version of the Australian voice by unselecting "compact voice" in voiceOver settings, and then in settings -> general -> international set your region format to Australia. The negative side affect of this approach is that it will probably fubar how voiceOver reads currencies and other items. I don't believe that there is an incompatibility between UK and Ausie dates, but here in the US, the UK or Australian speech engines might pronounce today's date as Thursday December 1st. Actually I just looked at the calendar and all three pronounced the date correctly, but I suspect that reading dates could still be confusing in other apps. Best regards. Still working with it. Using voice over and when I first unpacked it and got assistance setting it up, Voice Over spoke with the female Australian accent - which was nice. Since then I've set everything I can find to English United Kingdom and now have that male English accent which I'm not so keen on. Occassionally I am told to view notifications just swipe 3 fingers down and sure enough get a screen with details about Australian weather. Not being funny but I don't particularly care what the weather is like on the other side of the world. Does anyone know and are they able to tell me how to stop this being about Australia and changing it to Britain and if possible going back to the Australian accented Voice Over. Many thanks in advance and cheers for the help so far regarding VO volume on calls. Got a single piece BT earphone and got to set it up tomorrow.
