I'm trying to create a folder on my external hard drive and I couldn't. I tell you what I did and maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. On the desktop I went to my external hard drive and pressed command plus O to open it and then I open the table and went to a folder and opened it. Then I pressed shift plus command plus N to create a new folder but all that happened was a ding noice. Is there a different shortcut key to bring up the edit field so I can type in the name of the folder? I hope someone can help.
