Hi, Can voiceover read/speak in more than one language, depending on what text it encounters?
On my MacBook Air, I have set language preferences in the order that I want, and I have enabled the scripts that I want, but voiceover is not reading in any language other than English, regardless of text. Apparently, the screen displays all scripts correctly, it is just that voiceover is not reading anything other than English. What I am hoping to achieve is what I have using NVDA in Windows. With NVDA, the reading can be set to read through text even switching automatically between languages. For example, if I have a document written in Hindi using Dev Nagri script, in which there is also some English text, NVDA will read both the Hindi and the English smoothly, switching as appropriate between the languages as the text alternates. So, can voiceover be multi-lingual? If so, how do I set this up?
