Well it seems t work in my version. I use numpad commander so if I navigate to the fast forward button and press numpad 5 it jumps forward. If i hold numpad 5 down on the forward button you get the monkey chatter of the book being read out at rapid speed as you move through it.
If you are not using numpad commander then I guess VO space should achieve the same results.
