Hi Sarah and Geoff,

There was definitely something odd about using column view to display the 
Command-Option-L shortcut for Documents in Sarah's earlier post.  I had no 
problems when I switched to List view (Command-2) for Finder.  But that didn't 
affect my ability to write files.
