Sorry, I haven't been following this thread much. You're probably right about iTunes only letting you search by gemra and that's a bit of a problem.
Now you asked about recording radio streams you search for? If you're using iTunes on a Mac you could use Audio Hijack Pro to record the stream being played by iTunes.
