Hi Jim,

See my reply to Sarah on the authentication problem thread.  You may only need 
to try typing the second command in Terminal:
chmod +a "everyone deny delete" ~/ ~/Desktop ~/Documents ~/Downloads ~/Library 
~/Movies ~/Music ~/Pictures ~/Public

then press return.  See whether that works.

P.S. I asume that anyone who tries this has at least some minimal experience 
using Terminal.
