Also, one minor correction on port numbers. ssl is run on port 443, not 433 as mentioned in the email. Of course, if you control both the originating and the targeted system, you can use any port you like, but 443 is the default, though ports like 993 are used when using ssl over email sessions, though that's apple's take, and I'm not sure if that's a standard or not, I've not looked at many rfcs lately.
