Hi Catherine,

Assuming you already have IOS5 installed, you can accomplish this on your IOS device by going into settings--->general--->software update.

Others here are reporting trouble with this technique, but it went flawlessly for me on Wednesday and I assume that is the experience for most. If that does not work you'll need to connect to your mac or PC, launch iTunes, arrow down to the devices tree and expand it to find your device. Then under the info tab you can tab to a button labeled "check for updates", or it may already know there's an update available and display an install button.

HTH
Geoff

Sounds ignorant, I know, but how do I update to the 5.1 OS on my IPhone.
