Hi Roger,

As Sarah mentioned, you can open a new window with Command-N or open a web site
in a new window through the context window. Safari's preferences menu
(Command-Comma) under the tabs pane lets you select whether you want to open
new pages in tabs or in windows. (Tabs are a bit more efficient in resource
usage, but switching windows is often easier to use as far as keeping your
place).

If you only have a few windows up, just use Command-accent (this is the grave
accent above the left tab key and below the escape key on English input
keyboards). Using shift cycles you in the reverse direction, just as in
switching apps with Command-tab and Command-Shift-tab.

Cheers,

Esther
