I am afraid that it appears that Accessibility with Open Office was somehow
broken with Lion.
I have seen this discussed on other Forums and nobody has been able to make
Open Office Accessible under Lion in the same way it apparently was with
snow Leopard.

For example when I used Open Office it was impossible to get any typing echo
at all.
If you interact with text and press VO A the line will be read out for you
but that is of very limited use .

Subject: open office and VO?

Hello,

I've read on some forums for blind people that it's possible to use VO with
open office.
I've try but it does not work to follow the cursor or to select text.
Do you have beter experiences? If yes, which version of open office are you
using with Lion?
Thanks!

Murielle
