Hi,

The amount of memory all depends on what version of Windows you are going to
use. If you use a 64bit then you require 8 gb. Since 64bit versions of Windows
works best in 4 gb. If you go with a 32bit version then you can get away with
4gb on the Mac. Make sure you configure VMWare to not to use more then 50% of
available memory.

Ideally, more memory is better then less regardless of OS. I use 8 gb of
memory. Memory isn't expensive these day. Also Apple has certified memory or
Apple memory. Apple memory is far more expensive then other vendors. It is wise
to use ECC memory which basically means you have error checking on the memory.
You don't have to do this. But Apple memory uses ECC.

The aspect of having windows or not. Is the question. It depends on your
requirements regardless of what you need to learn on the Mac. You cannot state
either way is the best method.

I use both environments and also have a Linux VM image so I have one computer
rather then 2 or 3. That is the advantage of virtualisation.
