It seems to be more common of a problem with Lion for some reason.  But 
sometimes the command v works just fine.  Have also found that holding the 
command down a little longer before doing the letter v more times then it will 
do an actual copy instead of moving it, but also sometimes as a command v for 
pasting it sets up in the new place as an alias, so where the file has been 
pasted to do v o keys shift m and if it says (show original) then it copied 
over as an alias instead, thus when opened is still going to go back to the 
original place the file was.  But command option v does move it after a copy, 
and it is a literal move too because it will be gone from the original place.
