ok. are you saying when you put the flash drive in you get the error
that the disk cannot be read and the flash drive does not show up in the
list of drives? if so then cmd e will not in this case work. Maybe try
reading it with disk utility and mountain it there with cmd shift m.

I believe the poster did that and got the strange error message they
wrote down. I'm stumped as well as most of the time I can eject flash
drives i use in the studio. and that has wave files. with no
problems.

They are my miscellaneous flash drives, with mostly documentation,
but a little music, some .exe files, just a bunch of stuff I carry
around to student computers. The Apple spoke a message about the
drives not having been ejected correctly, and if I could figure out
how to do it the Mac would fix the drive; but I couldn't figure it
out. I went back to the PC, where Windows 7 read everything without
a hitch, and in the context menu went to 'eject' and pressed enter,
hoping that that would fix whatever was confusing the Apple, but it
didn't.
