Dear Listers,
I've noticed for some time that my Mac book has been running its fan
and also extra slow. On occasion I've checked Activity monitor and apparently
Missed something important. I found today a process called WD SmartwareD and
my CPU percentage is usually over %90! I remember seeing WD Smartware on my
Western Digital external drive. I have all hard disks except time Capsule
disconnected from the computer and yet this process is still going. Further,
when I go to the toolbar and select quit process I can't get it to stop. It
says I'll have to enter a administrative password but I don't see where to do
that. then the quit process button goes dim. In the meantime my CPU is still
working like crazy and the fan is working very hard.
How can I quit this process?
