Hi

For those who have had some difficulty with Lynne's instructions regarding
updating DropBox. I think I can now answer the question regarding why the
setup windows did not appear when you tried to update DropBox. Even if you
stop the process from within Activity Monitor, there is another Daemon running
which is a sub-process of the main application it would appear. Therefore, if
you try to run the application as Lynne suggested and have had any version of
DropBox running in your current session, the window does not appear. However,
running the app from the disk image does invisibly install the app and relaunch
it. So, Lynne and Lucy were both correct in a way. The only true way to stop
it and then have the window made visible is to kill the app in activity
monitor, delete the app from your /applications folder and then restart the
machine. Once you've restarted, run the DropBox app from within the disk image
and you'll see the window.

I've just been experimenting with that and those are my findings.
