Unfortunately, I missed most of this thread am not going to try to repeat
the suggestions that most likely have already been offered beyond advising to
be sure to review all the settings for the account and to be sure a port number
or such has not bee altered. Also, like with an experience I recently had with
my provider, they changed a few settings that effected my ability to download
my mail.
When all else fails, though, I would try removing the account and entering
it again from scratch. Note, though, that if you have set up any rules or
signatures involving the account, they will be lost.
