I doubt very much you'd notice much difference to be honest. I'm not going to talk about iOS6 because Apple discourages speculation. But your iPad 2 should be future-proof for a while yet. It's only the original iPad which is being effectively dropped. Of course, technical support and warranty services won't be affected if, for example, you have an AppleCare plan which includes your original iPad.
