It's not that hard actually. do a search for dean's podcast at http://blindcooltech.com on rearranging folders and stuff.
basically you have a 4 by 4 matrix for the normal home screen but once you get in to move mode as I call it you have an 8 by 8 matrix where one column is the rot and one column is the folder. the heap will tell you if you are in in a row column and the sound will tell you if you are in a folder column. I can now rearrange apps in a few minutes. In fact I need to do this as my home screen is starting to be messy.
