Yes the learning curve will be a challenge but a load of fun. :) now on a Macbook, when set up new, is it command-f5 to toggle VoiceOver or command-fn-f5? ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Griffith" <[email protected]>

It will be a learning curve but I am sure you will be more than up for it.
In general VO K will put voiceover in key describer mode. A bit like NVDA
1.
This is not a toggle though press escape to leave VO key describer mode.

VO M will bring up the menu bar which will get you to most things you need.
Shift VO M will bring up the context menu, a bit like shift F10 on windows
or pressing application key.

unfortunately I have not found a source where both MacOs shortcuts and VO
keystroke are listed together.
This should get you started in Mail though.

Press command N for new Mail
Press command shift D to send Mail message.
Press Command shift Y to add to add contact.
Command R to reply
Command shift F to forward
Command Y to view attachment.
To insert an attachment to a mail in Mac simply press command c on the file
you want to attach in finder.
Command tab back to Mail and then simply press command v to paste the
attachment in the Mail. I love the simplicity of this method.
To enter multiple email addresses separate them with a comma rather than the
semi colon you use in windows outlook. If you hear VO giving auto complete
option you can either just press return to accept auto completion of an
email address or vo up and down to hear other auto complete options.
To set up groups you need to do this not in mail but in address book. Ask
again if you need help with this.
personally I use VO J to jump between message table and message content.
Voiceover will read the message and VO jump you back again to the message
table ready to move to the next mail.
To move to the top of the mail list press shift vo home. - you will need the
equivalent to home on the laptop.
To get to the bottom of list shift vo end or again the laptop equivalent.

Hope that helps get you started. -----Original Message-----

Subject: Keyboard shortcuts

Hello all.
Good news. Depending on how things go, I may be in acquisition of a second
hand 13 inch Macbook running Lion, upgraded from Snow Leopard. I have been
told it's a 2008 model.
So here is my first of no doubt many questions. How do I bring up a document
of keyboard shortcuts, such as those found in Mail?
Thanks so much, I could do with as much help as I need throughout this
possible transition.
Chris.
