Hi listers,
On my new Mac book Pro running Mountain Lion I went to system
preferences and went to find Bluetooth and got a shock. The button was not
there. For a moment I thought my new computer did not have Bluetooth. I
called Apple and the support person said she had just had a similar call, but
the caller did not have time to trouble shoot. We did and we solved the
problem.
she had me shutdown the computer and then press "Control, option, shift" on the
left side of the keyboard and the on switch all at once just for a moment. she
did not expect my computer to turn on but it did. even so when I went back to
System preferences the Bluetooth button was now available. previously in the
Extras menu Bluetooth said "unavailable" now it has a useful menu.
I'm posting this for the archives and for any interested readers.
I will add this key combination at start up to my bad of tricks. I believe she
called it the System master Controller
Eric Caron .
