I use amadeus to edit my podcasts.  It works and works well for what I need. 
You will get several opinions  on what works. I've also used garage band for 
the bigger podcasts or for demoing stuff as well. I've also just uploaded 
straight from my olympus but that one is rare unless I don't need to put my 
intro and exit in lol!

As for uploading I use www.archive.org and mars edit and wordpress to post. but 
again there are different solutions for even doing that.
