I've heard really bad reviews about those too but I haven't had any problems
with mine.

Are those Mag. safe chargers the only ones for a Macbook pro? My original
one has died rather spectacularly (it involved a smell of burning, then the
bit that connects to the mac fell off) so I need to replace it. However the
reviews on the applestore aren't great for the new mag. safe ones so I said
I'd check if there were unofficial alternatives.
