Hi Ester,
Thanks for the news. Your information is about cost me some money, but it
will be half as much, I guess. Fifty percent off makes me want to buy more.
Thanks for the update though.

Subject: All O'Reilly e-Books 50% sale today-only
Hi All,
All O'Reilly ebooks are on sale today for 50% off regular prices if you
apply a coupon code of "B2S2" (without the quotation marks) as part of their
"Back to School Sale" special. I think this runs through till just before
midnight Pacific Standard Time (a little over 8 more hours). These are
typically computer books, and included labels are for O'Reilly, Microsoft
Press, Site Point, and No Starch. All titles are sold without any digital
rights managements (so you can read them on your desktop as well as on an
iOS device or Android device.)
Here's the web page:

You do need to create a log in account. You get permanent access to all
electronic formats and all minor updates to that title through you account.
On many older O'Reilly titles, they now offer DAISY versions, as well as
ePub, mobi, PDF, etc. Afterwards, you can re-download the latest version of
these books from your account in any of these formats. I believe you also
get notifications by email if there are new formats or versions. You do
need to visit the link in your receipt, or on your email, or on the
completed web page purchase to download the actual ebooks once you've bought
them. And if you want to browse their general eBook page at any later time,
the URL is:

Here are a few titles that looked interesting, with prices before discount.
(Note, these also become available through Bookshare, but people outside the
U.S. may want to purchase individual titles):
• Switching to the Mac: The Missing Manual, Mountain Lion Edition by David
Pogue (September 2012)(list price Ebook: $23.99)

• OS X Mountain Lion: The Missing Manual by David Pogue (September 2012)
(list price Ebook: $27.99)

And for computer programmers or the more technically oriented:
• Introducing Regular Expressions by Michael Fitzgerald (July 2012) (list
price Ebook: $23.99)
http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920012337.do
• Learning Cocoa with Objective-C [Developing for the Mac and iOS App
Stores], 3rd edition by Paris Buttfield-Addison, Jonathon Manning (September
2012) (list price Ebook $31.99)
http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920023203.do
• Learning Unix for OS X Mountain Lion [Using Unix and Linux Tools at the
Command Line], 1st edition by Dave Taylor (August 2012) (list price Ebook

HTH. And sorry for the late announcement; I just caught this while browing
the O'Reilly web pages.
Cheers,
Esther
