Actually it's quite easy to do. Just swipe through the picker at the bottom of 
the thing and you will hear each app titled. the description is found under 
that title. I'll do a demo sometime today when  I'm more awake. Right now I 
sound like I have a smoker's cough. but I need to do an addendum  again  as 
apple changed it from the last one I did.
