vo plus left and right arows takes you to the parts of the screen in the application. when you vo right arrow you will hear toolbar when you are in the right place. vo plus down arrow to interact on the toolbar. vo left and right arrow takes you through the options on the toolbar when you have interacted with it. you should hear an option preferences button. vo plus space to open the preferences menu. vo plus left and right arrow takes you through each option in the preferences menu. you should come across some checkboxes in this menu with descriptions before them and you should hear "audio description" when you left or right arrow through this menu. when you hear the words "audio description" vo plus right arrow to the next element which is the checkbox for it and hit vo plus space and it will say "checked."
hope this helps.

find where it says toolbar, interact with it and use the
voiceover arrow keys, go to where it says favourites, and inside that menu there are different options and checkboxes and audio description is mentioned before an unchecked checkbox. check it with vo space before you download your tv eppisode. this is how i found the audio description option.
it will only download the audio description if it has been
provided with the programme.
i have tried eppisodes of "sherlock holmes" and "heartbeat" and
found that ad hadn't been provided in the programmes even though i know that ad has been transmitted with some of those eppisodes such as "the devil's foot."

Hi all,
For those that use Get iPlayer Automator to download BBC shows
and have the audio described option checked to get that version,
how do you get the audio description? I downloaded the latest episode of The Vampire Diaries, which I know is audio described on iTV.
Thanks.
