know you could download and read off line.

I thought of that - but I thought the point of the reading list was that
it downloaded the articles for reading off line, in which case the
bookmark should not be taking me back to their server.

reading. I am saving articles downloaded from the newspapers from TNAUK.
I add them to the reading list on my phone and mac just fine, but if I
leave some time before going back to read I keep getting the 404 not
found message relating to TNAUK'S server. This implies to me it is not
cached on my phone or mac, but merely bookmarked.
I really want to use the service like you would instapaper, but keep
losing saved articles.
Does anyone have a clue what I am doing wrong?
